Virginia M. Barlow, 92, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 at her home. She was born May 16, 1928 in Champaign, IL to Virgil and Helen (nee: Ward) Metzler. Virginia enjoyed gardening and loved to golf. She was a member of the Grayslake Garden Club and Spring Valley Swingers Golf League. Virginia taught in public schools for 28 years and coached volleyball, softball, and track. Virginia is survived by her children Krista (James) Bratton, Kent (Blair) Barlow, Kim Barlow, and Kathy Barlow, her grandchildren Ashley (Joseph) Martinez and Kate Merrill, and great-grandson Zane Barlow. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Doris Eveland, and her son Kurt Barlow. A memorial visitation and service is scheduled for Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 10:00am until 11:00am with the memorial service commencing at 11:00am at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030.
