Juanita A. Lehman

Juanita A. Lehman, 89, a resident of Lake Zurich and former resident of Grayslake, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021.  She was born October 22, 1931 to Chester and Ruth (nee Klinger) Lehman in Ven Wert, Ohio.  Juanita was a teacher, beginning her career at an elementary school in Ohio.  She raised her family during a pause in her career, and later returned to teaching high school students at an alternative school in Illinois.  Juanita enjoyed reading and homemaking, was interested in health and nutrition, and most of all was a devoted wife and mother.

Juanita is survived by her children; Dale (Kathy) of Baltimore, MD, Gary (Marcy) of Denver, CO, Sheryl (Alfonso) Acevedo of Volo, and Linda of Palatine; her grandchildren, Andrea (Bill), Geoffrey, Melissa (Matt), Jocelyn, Elizabeth (Joe), Samuel, and David; and her great-grandchildren Bridget, Samara, Gabriel, Rose, Eve, and Orion.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmit Lehman; her brother, Gerald Thatcher; and her parents. 

A visitation and funeral service are scheduled for Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 10:00am until 11:00am with the funeral service commencing at 11:00am at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030.  Interment will follow at Warren Cemetery in Gurnee. Memorial donations may be made to the Mundelein Church of the Nazarene 1515 W.
